About Nika Enduro Sibiu
A local guide, over ten years of enduro in the mountains around Sibiu, and one goal: that you leave the trail with an experience you'll remember.
Who leads the tours
I'm the guide behind Nika Enduro Sibiu. I grew up in Sibiu, and for more than ten years I have ridden the forests, ridges and mountain roads of the region. I started out wanting to find every trail. Now I lead groups from first-time riders to five-day expeditions.
Enduro is my passion, and I'm a certified guide. What I show you on the trail comes from years of riding, not from a map.
What local experience means
Some of the trails I know best aren't in any tourist guide: forest tracks, meadows with views over the whole mountain range, and roads that change from one week to the next after rain. Sibiu works well as a base because the mountains start a short distance away and the terrain changes often.
Local knowledge goes beyond the route itself. I know where a good break is, where it gets dangerous when it rains, and when the plan needs to change.
How I work with groups
Every group is different. Some riders have years behind them, others are on their first motorbike. I always start by finding out each rider's level and what they want from the day. Then I set the route and the pace so that nobody is pushed too hard and nobody gets left behind.
With beginners, patience comes first. I teach technique one step at a time: body position on the bike, how to brake on a slope, how to pick a line over rocks. Riders with more experience get harder routes and specific advice on what to work on.
Safety
Our tours don't push anyone past their limits. Before we set off, we go over the route and its risks. We carry repair tools on the trail, and if something breaks we stop and fix it. If the weather turns, we change the route or the day. I would rather skip a route than risk an accident.
